What changes hands here
The things student life in the UK needs but nobody flies home with: furniture and homeware (desks, chairs, mattresses, storage), kitchen appliances (rice cookers, air fryers, microwaves), clothing and accessories (winter coats, suitcases), electronics, books and stationery, sports gear and bikes. Everything is listed by TUF members living in the UK, usually clearing out before they graduate or move.
When the bargains show up
June to September is the busiest stretch: leavers move out as new students move in, and the same furniture and kitchen kit can change hands within a few weeks. Mid-term listings are fewer but tend to be more negotiable.
Before you arrange a handover
Browsing needs no account; you only log in to contact a seller. TUF does not handle payments or check items, so meet in a public place or a hall reception, check dimensions and how you will move anything large, plug electricals in and test them on the spot, and agree the payment method and pickup time before you set a date.
Listing something yourself
Log in and use "List an item": add a title, category, price, condition, your city and how the buyer collects it, with photos if you have them. You can edit a listing at any time and mark it sold when it goes.
